It’s a pleasure to present the Astronauts 2023 coin, the first issue of this fantastic series.
The reverse of the coin shows a couple of astronauts in a lavender field illuminated by thousands of fireflies, against a space background full of stars, nebulae and galaxies. It is a landscape that we may be able to contemplate in the distant future, when we will discover whether or not we are alone in the universe.
The obverse of the coin shows the head of an astronaut in space, with the lights of his helmet on, and the image of a futuristic city lit up with the Earth in the background.
